The Hartlepool SENDIASS name and logo are the sole property of Hartlepool SENDIASS and no permission is given in respect of their use. Unless otherwise indicated, Hartlepool SENDIASS is the owner of the copyright and all other intellectual property rights in the Site and its contents. No part of the Site may be reproduced without written permission, except you may make copies of information from the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use.

Governing Law
The Terms and your use of this Site shall be governed by the Laws of England. By using the Site and accepting the Terms you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that Hartlepool SENDIASS may take action in any appropriate jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property rights.

Live Chat Service
By using Live Chat (“the Service”) you confirm that you agree to these Terms of Use and you agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use then please immediately stop using this Service. We may change these Terms of Use at any time, it is your responsibility to check these Terms of Use regularly in case of any changes.

By using this Service you consent to the processing of data as detailed in our Privacy Policy. More specifically, in order to use the Service we need to collect a user's name and email address. We need this information in order for the Service to operate. Chats are stored for 90 days. We do not use messages or data for any other purpose except to follow up on users' questions, enquiries and issues, and all personal data is stored and processed in line with GDPR regulations. Hartlepool Borough Council / Hartlepool SENDIASS is the data controller.

Generally the Service will be available between 9am - 5pm Monday - Thursday and 9am - 4:30pm on Friday, although there will be times when the availability of the Service will be based on the availability of our team. In the event that the Service is busy, you may wish to try at another time. If the Service is busy or not available, you may wish to call us on 01429 284876.

Should you access the Service on more than one occasion, we cannot guarantee you a response from the same member of our team on each occasion. All our staff work in the same way so whoever you talk to, you will always receive the same type of support.

Staff operating the Service may publish links to external web pages to the user, such links are provided for the convenience of the user and Hartlepool SENDIASS do not control these websites or are responsible for the content within. Use of these websites does not imply any endorsement by Hartlepool SENDIASS of the content contained therein.

The Service is intended to be used to provide information and support only. It is not intended to provide medical or professional advice.  We do not accept liability to any person relating to the use of any information contained within or exchanged via the Service.

You must only use this Service for legal and acceptable purpose. You will not use the Service in ways that are obscene, illegal, threatening, intimidating, harassing, defamatory or are racially, ethnically or sexually offensive, or encourage conduct that would be deemed illegal or inappropriate. You must not store or send viruses or other harmful code through the Service. You are responsible for keeping your account and your device safe and secure and you should notify us promptly if you believe your account has been comprised or is being used without your authorisation.

If you violate these Terms we may take action in respect of blocking your email address.

By using the Service you acknowledge that your agreement with your internet or mobile network provider will apply and that you may be charged for data services whilst using specific features within the Service, and that you are responsible for such charges. If you are not the bill payer for the device being used to access the Service then you will be assumed to have received permission from the bill payer for using the Service.

In no event shall we be liable to you with respect to use of the Service and / or be liable to you for any direct, indirect, special or consequential damages including without limitation, damages for loss of goodwill, lost profits or loss, theft or corruption of your information, the inability to use the Service, device failure of malfunction.
